Everyone has heard or should have heard about the Tariffs imposed upon foreign imports into the United States of American. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of our hobby the Orange Tyrant has not excluded wargames manufacturers from his despotic tariffs. We at Fogg of War had originally thought we’d go with the flow and stick an extra 10% on our customers purchases. But that did not sit right with us. As part of our ethos we’ve always wanted people to see how good our figures are and that people enjoy the painting and gaming experience with them. We believe that our figures are some of the best around and want to spread that message. As such we have taking the decision that what you pay at checkout is all you pay. We haven’t stuck an extra 10 % on the packet cost, our prices haven’t risen in the last 18 months. As we say what you pay at checkout is what you pay! We will pay the tariff. Free trade is what the United States built its reputation and economy on and penalising a customer for buying from another country does nobody any favours. So go ahead fill your boots as they say and know that YOU, our customer, will not be hit by any extra costs.

That brings us to our customers across the English Channel, Irish Sea and the German Sea. The “dividends” of Brexit have again put an extra burden on small business and customers alike. Sorry for saying this but what possessed a Nation from walking away from its biggest market and then expect customers to pick up the VAT charge. Well that is not going to happen here. Again what a customer pays at checkout is all they are going to pay. The extra 10 or 20% added VAT charge will not be applied and we will take on that cost. Recently though the Post Office counter clerks seem confused on this issue. So if any charges do slip through please send us a copy of your receipt and we'll arrange a refund.

We are not here to make political points as what we are saying is tongue in cheek apart from that we will shoulder the cost of any additional charges, whether VAT or Tariff. What we want is for people to see first hand the quality of our figures, to see them on the wargames table and people enjoying using them. We cannot guarantee that your Fogg of War Army will be a winning one but it’ll be a very good looking and pleasing on the eye one.

We have noted that Royal Mail has dramatically increased its charges in recent months and while we are happy to shoulder the costs of Tariffs, EU VAT and Royal Mails Admin fee per transaction we cannot absorb all the extra costs. We have had to increase our none UK postal rates. Sorry about that. In an effort to negate these costs we are now trying where possible to recycle padded envelopes etc so please don not be offended that your figures do not arrive in a new shiny envelope. What we will be using are sturdy packaging which will keep your items safe but may look a little bit used. Its just another drive to trying to keep costs down for you, our customers. Times are hard enough so what we can do to save you some, pennies, cents etc we will do so.
